6、scannowbeeasilyovercome.Overtheyearsthecomputerhasgraduallyemergedasapowerfultoolavailabletomanagerstosolveawiderangeofcomplexmanagementdecisionmakingproblems.ThenewgenerationofcomputersareequippedwithfastprocesssOperati

7、onsManagementPlanningofmanufacturingoperationsisnecessaryifwewanttomakethebestuseoftheexpensiveresourcesderivethemostprofitfromthem.Operationsplanningbasicallyconsistsofthefollowingfunctions:(a)determinationofmanufacturi

8、ngmethodsoperationtimesjobroutesbatchsizesmanufacturingcapacity(b)designoffactylayoutwkplacetoprovideasmoothflowofmaterialsafewkingenvironment.Theuseofthecomputerinoperationsplanningismanifold.Intheareaofwkmeasurementtim

9、estardsthevalueofthecomputeristhespeedwithwhichdatacanberetrievedmanipulatedtheabilitytoprograminductivesequences.Thusthemanagerisrelievedofthebedomassociatedwithcarryingoutthetediousrepetitivetasks.Inbriefthecomputerisu

10、sedtosteallthestardoperationtimescrespondingtothepredeterminedparticularwkelementseitherinadatafileinsomemathematicalfm.Toanalyseajobitisfirstdividedintoitswkelementswhicharefedintothecomputer.Thecomputerthenretrievesinf
