3、coming a hot topic inforeign language realm. The thesis is to explore how to efficiently integrate the Internetinto Chinese College English listening instruction, how to arouse the students’ interests inliste

4、ning and improve their listening ability, from a constructivist’s perspective.First of all, the author introduces the characteristics of constructivism, motivation inEnglish as foreign language learni

5、ng, some ideas for motivating students, learnerautonomy in language learning, listening strategy and studies related to listeningcomprehension strategies, and some common listening comprehension problems. Then,the autho

6、r conducted an investigation on the traditional listening class via questionnaires,to find out the existing problems in the traditional listening classroom, the teachingmethod and the teaching materials. A

7、lthough much has been written on the constructivistteaching, most of them are theoretical and lacking in evidence. Thirdly, the authorexpounded CALL, the Internet, WWW and language learning. Fourthly, the authorpr

8、oposed a listening model used in SJTU, which aimed to create a new listeningenvironment so that the students can significantly motivated and their listening strategies,especially note- taking ability can b

9、e highly improved. After research of three semesters,from large number of questionnaires and the response in the discussion forum, the authorfound the students can be significantly motivated and t

10、heir listening strategies, especiallynote- taking ability, can be highly improved. Finally, the author pointed out someproblems in the given New Horizon College English (NHCE) website, and proposed amodel for online
