2、of their utilization within messagesusing those different kinds of signs". Semiotics is a very influential and essential field ofstudy, because by making use of signs the learners are able to achieve a lot ofinformation
3、 on various fields such as; literature, art, architecture, psychology,anthropology, philosophy, etc. In other words, communication is the primary concern ofsemiotics. In the language classroom, the teachers make
4、use of semiotics symbols to leadto a better understanding of the topic. By doing so, the learners fmd the opportunity tostudy the topics of a given course in a more informative and enjoyable way. The role of semiotic
5、 in language teaching and learning is an important concept tostudy. In the language classroom, the primary role of the language learner is to transferand exchange correct information with his/her audience. While doing th
6、is, the languagelearner makes use of the semiotic sign. The students and teachers use most of these signsunconsciously. Since semiotics is the combination of signs and symbols to communicatethe information, the students
7、and the teachers make use of a number of signs, some ofwhich are iconic and some are symbolic and index. Signs are the perceived/perceivableaspect of communication; they can be visual, auditive, tactile, etc. Thus, it ca
8、n be saidthat, semiotics is a fundamental issue to be considered in language teaching pedagogy,because it helps the individual to develop his cognitive facilities at all levels ofperception. Moreover, semiotics not only
9、offers different models of teaching but alsobroadens the scope of language teaching by offering tools to consider for visualcommunication in a given context. To illustrate, verbal and non-verbal, visualcommunica
10、tion and visual aids, cultural elements in semiotics and for vocabularyteaching, signs and symbols are using actively in language classrooms. It is obvious thatthe consideration of semiotic approach in FLT classroom has
11、promising results and maylead to long-term success in learning a foreign language with its applicable and pertinenttechniques that are learner-centered. The language teachers should study many semioticsigns in the teachi
