3、northempartofFujianprovinceThereexistsignificantlyinphaseinterannualvariationsinthePEHTDinSouthChinainJuneJulyandAugustrespectivelyInJune,theinterannualanomalouscenterofPEHTDismainlylocatedinthewesternGuangxi,andthecente
4、rsinJulyarelocatedinthenorthernpartsofFujianandGuangdongInAugustthePEHTDanomalouscentersareinnorthernGuangdongandcentralandeasternGuangxiInsummerundertheweatherconditionofpersistentextremehightemperatureevents,theSouthAs
5、iahighisoftenintensifiedandthewestemPacificsubtropicalhighisalsointensifiedandextendswestwardAtthesametimethesouthwesterliesofsummermonsoonseemsweakerandtherearetropicalcyclonesandtropicaldisturbancesinthevicinitiesofBal
6、intangchannelBasedonthestatisticresultitisfoundthatfortyninepercentofPEHTDareduetotheinfluenceofthesubtropicalhighorcontinentalhighandtheotherfortyfivepercentarelinkedtotheinfluenceoftropicalcyclonesandtropicaldisturbanc
7、esmainlyfromthetropicalwesternPacificThebackgroundcirculationcharacteristiesforinterannualvariationofPEHTDwerealsoanalyzedTheinterannualvariabilityofPEHTDinJunehasacloselyrelationwiththetroughactivitiesaroundtheareafromH
8、uabeitotheYellowSeaat500hPaThenorthemcoldaircannotreachSouthChinawhenthetroughdisturbancesareinactiveinaforementionedregionaccompaniedwiththeintensifiedgeopotentialheightThiswillbebenefittotheoccurrenceofpersistentextrem
9、ehightemperatureeventsThesituationisreversedinthecaseofactivetroughdisturbancesBothinJulyandAugust。thePEHTDsinSouthChinahavesignificantpositivecorrelationsoninterannualscalevariationwiththe500hPaheightovertheSouthChinaan
10、dtheBayofBengalUsuallythereexistanticyclonicanomalouscirculationsoverSouthChinaandcyclonicanomalouscirculationsoverthetropicalwesternPacificat850hPainthecaseoffrequentlyoccurringPEHTDbutanticyclonicanomalouscirculationso
11、verthetropicalwesternPacificinthecaseoflessPEHTDFinallybasedonthediagnosisofapersistentextremehightemperatureeventin2003,itwasfoundthattheneteffectofverticaltemperatureadvectionprocessanddiabaticheatingatthelowertroposph
12、erehasamajorcontributiontothelocaltemperaturerisingwhilethehorizontaltemperatureadvectionprocesshasanegativecontributionThereexistsasignificant60120daylowfrequencyoscillationintheseasonalvariationofdailymaximumtemperatur
