4、n exchangealso makes it necessary to provide translation as a bridge of economic connectivity.This thesis is a translation practice report based on the English-Chinesetranslation practice of reports on Chinese economy fr

5、om The Economist. The sourcetexts are all selected from the finance and economics column of The Economist. Sincethe implementation of reform and opening up, China has been more and moreinterlinked economically with other

6、 countries. The reports on Chinese economy inThe Economist are authoritative and referential to some extent due to its widespreadinfluence. Guided by Nida’s functional equivalence theory, this thesis explores relatedEngl

7、ish-Chinese translation strategies on financial or economic texts from lexical,syntactic and ideological aspects respectively.This thesis is mainly composed of five parts. The first part briefly states thebackground, des

8、cription and preparation of this translation task. The second partexpounds the application of Nida’s functional equivalence theory into thisEnglish-Chinese translation practice. The third part analyzes some stylistic fea

9、turesabout financial or economic texts on lexical and syntactic level. The fourth part is ofparamount importance. Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, Itsummarizes specific English-Chinese translation str

10、ategies on titles, lexical, syntacticand ideological level while relevant case analyses are conducted. The fifth part is theconclusion. It concludes the experience, limitations and reflections of thisEnglish-Chinese tran
