3、 environment. At the same time, all kinds of space mechanisms built by humans have closely related with human society. The Dong is one of the ethnic groups with long history in South China. In the Dong's village, the

4、 construction of their personal houses and the public architectures such as drum building, Fengyu Bridge etc., have created the integrated space with ethnic characteristics. Currently, the research on the Dong's arc

5、hitecture in academic circle focuses more on its function and technique, but lack of the discussion on the cultural significance of the space formation. The dissertation intends to take the research of cultural meaning o

6、f the Dong Minority village’s space formation as a breakthrough point to record the formation process of the rural space and the relative ethnic tradition by describing in detail the Dong’s private and public space. By c

7、omparison, the dissertation summarizes the characteristics of the Dong's t space formation, for example, they show their interest in constructing public space and make every effort in creating harmonious living space

8、, and so on. In addition, it is pointed out that the formation of the rural space not only embodies the environmental concept about how to make use of the best geographical condition for people's life and development
