1、二十一世紀(jì)以來，公示語逐漸成為翻譯界關(guān)注與研究的熱點(diǎn)。學(xué)者們應(yīng)用多種理論作為支撐，對公示語翻譯進(jìn)行了實(shí)證研究并取得了一定成果。然而，這些研究重點(diǎn)主要集中于公示語的分類界定問題、公示語翻譯失誤和公示語翻譯的原則、策略和方法，忽略了公示語譯寫的國家標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和相關(guān)法律法規(guī)。
本文以西安地區(qū)翻譯研究及外語教學(xué)能力出眾且具有代表性的六所高校進(jìn)行調(diào)研，采集526張公示語標(biāo)示圖片，對英語譯文進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計分析，以調(diào)查公示語漢英翻譯的實(shí)際應(yīng)用情況及存在
