5、 while at the same time analyze the information structure of the source language and try to figure out the best way to deliver it into the target language. In the reader/listener-oriented context, the structure of infor

6、mation usually goes from given information to new information. And the new information usually becomes given information in the following context. During listening process, familiarization of the theory of information st

7、ructure will enables interpreters to focus more on new information. However, information structure and information focus differ when it comes to English and Chinese. Besides, not any sentence follows exactly the rule of

8、“given information to new information” structure. Therefore, this dissertation aims to enable interpreters to figure out what’s given information and what’s new information as quickly as they can during listening process
