2、ginal texts and mainly taken the authors’purposes into consideration. The translators are supposed not to have initiative or creativity to make changes during the translation process. Since the

3、trend of culture turn in translation in the 1980s, the position of translators has been brought into focus. The scholars at home and abroad began to adopt different approaches into its studie

4、s. As an essential part of culture studies, gender issues have become a new perspective of translation studies. Feminist translation theory is a new theory prevailing in the west which has exerted grea

5、t influence on translation studies. It deserves great attention in that it gives prominence to the subjectivity of the translator, especially of the feminist translators. In China, however, few research

6、es are conducted on the feminist translation theory as well as its practice. Due to the above reasons, this thesis focuses on the issue of the translator’ s subjectivity from the perspective of

7、 feminist translation study, with a consideration of both its theory and practice. A case study of Eileen Chang’ s translated works is also made to examine the significance of the feminist th
