18、er, the knowledge concerning linguistics has been a great help to me.</p><p>　　The process of doing research in this subject is really strenuous, but at the same time inspiring. By ‘strenuous’, I mean I have

19、 plunged in and attentively consulted all relevant information from books, journals, technical literature and the internet. By ‘inspiring’, I mean such information enlightens me, whether directly or indirectly, as to my

20、subject from many significant aspects and thereafter gives birth to my methods of thinking. </p><p>　　The research involves not only a thorough and deep understanding of a chain of basic principles in lingui

21、stics, particularly in respect of pragmatics, but also a detailed study of marriage.</p><p>　　A brief and succinct analysis of literal translation of English into Chinese will be inevitably involved, but a
