3、 Chinese products have been getting into international market. Therefore, the demand for translation of product instructions is becoming increasingly urgent. This report is based on the author‘s translation practice of e

4、lectric hospital beds introductions for ABB, which includes 3 parts: ABB 3XC ICU Bed, ABB Smart Universal Hospital Bed and ABB3 Hospital Bed for Acute Care. They are mainly the introductions to the structure, function, o

5、perating principle and maintenance of these products. This project not only conforms to the general characteristics of English product instructions, such as accuracy, objectiveness and brevity, but also has some professi

6、onal features, special characteristics in vocabulary, sentence and discourse aspects. Based on the translation of Instructions of ABB Hospital Beds, this report discusses the characteristics of product instruction. Based

7、 on the translation theory of functional equivalence, the author tries to probe into the methods of translation of such instructions and hopes this report can help these kinds of translation of English product introducti

8、on in the future. This report consists of four parts. The first chapter introduces the background and intention of the report. It also provides a description of the pre-translation preparations and report structure. The

9、second chapter is the analysis of the stylistic features of Instructions of ABB Hospital Beds. The third chapter is based on the functional equivalence theory to explore and summarize the translation strategies to deal w

10、ith the translation difficulties and particular problems in the translation practice. The fourth chapter is conclusion which mainly summarizes the experience of the author and enlightenment to the future translation prac
