2、e speech. Predecessors has not done a systematic study in this field. There are five kinds of YunTu that reflect the Phonology in the medieval period: “YunJing”,“QiYinLue”, “SiShengDengZi”,“JingShiZhengYinQieYunZhiNan” a

3、nd “QieYunZhiZhangTu”. The first and the second belong to the same system. The characters in them are arranged by XiaoYun in some YunShu. Each character that represents some XiaoYun has a location in the YunTu. They full

4、y reflect the Fanqie system in QieYun. “SiShengDengZi“, “JingShi ZhengYinQieYunZhiNan“ and “QieYunZhiZhangTu“ are not complied with principles used for making YunTus.The authors of these books cut or merge categoris of Y

5、un according to the developments and changes of Chinese speech.This reflects changes of Chinese speech. The evolution of Chinese phonetic system can be seen in the changes of characters in the comparison between differen

6、t systems of YunTu. We compare “QiYin Lue“ with “Si ShengDengZi“ . First we use the Acer technology of the Word to change the style of “QiYinLue“ in accordance with the style of “SiShengDengZi“ .Then we compare two kinds

7、 of YunTu which have the same style by using functions about comparing or mergering documents,functions about finding words and other functions in the Word . The last we find out all of the differences of the characters

8、and phonological status in the two books and discuss these differences which reflect changes of Chinese speech. Some of these changes is fragmented phenomenon of speech, while others reflect the trends of the speech evol

9、ution,which is the beginning of large-scale changes in speech in the future . For example “ZhuoYinQingHua“ , “ZhiZhaoHeLiu“,vowel mergering and so on. If we fully and Systematically compare all of these five kinds of Yun
