2、litary affairs, oil industry, earthquake simulation, etc. However, because of the complication in the design and development of parallel application programs, and lack of appropriate software tools, it is difficult to co
3、mpile and debug parallel programs. It baffles the further development and application in parallel computer system. Being suit for the development of parallel computation technology, and digging the resources and computat
4、ion power, it is necessary to supply different level software and tools in parallel computer. Make the system structure of the parallel computer is transparent to the users and it will reduce the complication of the desi
5、gn and development of parallel program. The aim is to get the high performance of parallel computation. For these reasons, it has the needs to constructing an environment of parallel computation for the engineering compu
6、tation and supplying a good platform of parallel computation. In this paper, based on the research of the recent development and the background of parallel computation, combining with the needs of research in the instit
7、ute of author’s, we are attempting to constructing the parallel computation environment of SGI parallel computation server. We firstly set up the parallel compile environment, for example, MPI, PVM, OpenMP, HPF, and spe
8、cial parallel mathematical database. Secondly, on the parallel computer system, we implement the compile, connection and running of the message passing parallel program model MPICH. Through running the Jacobi MPI program
9、 of linear quintic on the SGI Origin3200 server, we test the speed-up ratio of parallel computation. By setting up the OpenPBS management software, we take forward the idea of scheduler for the queuing up tasks. The main
10、 architecture of the paper is as follows, In the first chapter, the background of parallel computation, the research actuality in inland and overseas, the main contexts of the paper are introduced. In the second chapter
11、, the software on server and hardware of SGI Origin3200 is introduced and the application platform is set up. In the third chapter, the set up and running of MPICH on SGI Origin3200 is discussed. In the fourth chapter,
12、 the tasks scheduler by OpenPBS on SGI Origin3200 server is constructed. In the fifth chapter, the inclusion of this paper and the prospect of further research work are taken forward. Key Words: Parallel Computation; P
