2、ory of music, the theory which reveals specific emotion of each tonality causes controversial discussion due to its subjectivity, but why does the theory still remain its vitality? To once again testing this “Key Charact
3、eristic” theory of Lavignac, the author chooses a special art form, film, which is relatively mature and combines vision and sense of hearing, aims to find out the coincidence rate with the assumption that the emotions m
4、ight fit to the theory base on the fact that film music composers want to express emotions. After viewing the “Key Characteristic” of Lavignac and the argument based on it, and to improve the reliability of this disserta
5、tion, 10 Oscar best film score movies in the twenty-first Century are carefully chosen as testing samples, the tonalities of music and the emotions from common view in the movie are to be compared with the “Key Character
6、istic” of Lavignac using scientific way supported by data. Among 24 forms and 540 examples of cases which covers the whole film music, samples are classified into three basic perspectives- centralized film score, story b
7、ased film score and “Leitmotiv” film score, meanwhile the relationship between picture and sound is fully considered. The conclusion is that the coincidence rate between the theory and this special finite field of film m
8、usic is 84.8%. Proper analysis of the result are proposed in the end, the common sense in subconsciousness towards tonalities from composers and the vitality of “Key Characteristic” are possible reasons which cause the h
