4、graphic works, The Beatles:The Stories Behind The Songs 1962-1966 and its sister volume The Beatles: The StoriesBehind The Songs 1967-1970, which were completed by the author and four other students.And its Chinese trans

5、lation under the direction of the supervisor will be published.There exists a huge difference between English and Chinese since they belong todifferent families of languages, that is, the Germanic group of languages and

6、Sino-Tibetanone respectively. First of all, for example, they include a large number of exclusivevocabularies, structures as well as expression styles. What’s more, artistic conception is takenseriously in Chinese so tha

7、t four-character phrases are widely used to enhance rhetoric effectof it. Last but not least, adjectives have been frequently applied in English while verbs andverb phrases have been widely employed in Chinese. That is t

8、he reason why English goes bythe name of static language and Chinese is under the title of dynamic one.Based on the English-Chinese translation practice, this report elaborates on the textbackground and the whole transla

9、tion process in four parts: translation task description,translation process description, case analysis, as well as translation conclusion. The thirdchapter, case analysis, is the crucial part of this report, which focus

10、es on the translation ofcertain adjectives and verbs. They are discussed with the analysis of concrete sentences andthe aid of translation strategies to each problem. In order to make the report clear, adjectivesare clas

11、sified into two categories, single adjectives and multiple adjectives, to which thesolutions and strategies are free translation, domestication, addition, compensation and so on.Translation problems among verbs are divid

12、ed into two parts, verbs in active voice and thosein passive voice. Solutions and strategies are extension, transfer, addition, splitting and so on.Translation of adjectives and verbs are common problems in English-Chine

13、setranslation practices. It raises author’s ability of translating and summarizing to take part intranslation task and write the translation practice report, which also can provide references totranslators of similar tra
