3、ope, discontinuous distributed in the west coast of South Africa. 1 variation and 18 species of the genus are originated from China, mainly in the northwest, Inner Mongolia and northern China. The genus L., shr

7、und the Junggar Basin, is one of the strongest salt-tolerant species, and also alkali-tolerant species. A number of studies had been reported focusing on the tamarisk’s community characteristics, salt-tolerance mechanis
8、m, and the relationship between distribution and salinity. But, So far, study on how salinity impacts the seed germination process of Tamarix laxa has not been reported. In this paper, the impact of different light dens
9、ity, temperature and salinity stress to seed germination of Tamarix laxa was studied. The result showed that: (1) the average 1000-grain weight of Tamarix laxa seeds was 0.0250g; seeds can transmit by wind; sseed longe
10、vity is more than 7months; (2)the germination process of Tamarix laxa seeds was not sensitive to light. And there is no difference between germination percentage under light and those in dark, the germination percentage
11、 are both higher than 92%; (3) the suitable germination temperature of Tamarix laxa seeds ranged form 15℃ to 35℃. Within this range, the germination rate was higher than 90%, and seeds germinated rapidly; (4) Seeds of T
12、amarix laxa has definite salt tolerant ability. Seed germination of Tamarix laxa has not been influenced by low salt concentration solution(0.1%-0.2% NaCl solution); seed germination percentage rapidly decreased with the
13、 increasing of NaCl concentration under the condition that salt concentration was between 0.25-0.35%,. High concentraion NaCl solution(0.35-0.6%) inhibited seed germination significantly. When NaCl concentration reached
14、0.6%, seeds can not germinated, seed germination was totally inhibited. The growth of plumule and radical were sensitive to the salt stress. Keywords: Tamarix laxa Willd, light, temperature, salt stress, seed germinatio
