2、gnored by researchers, though in the Song Dynasty the development of Ci style had achieved full maturity and prosperity. There are only a little more than 1300 boudoir repining Ci lyrics in Whole Poetry of Song Dynasty,

3、however, with their unique charm, these lyrics show great value. In this paper, four aspects of boudoir repining Ci lyrics in Song dynasty are explored: the origin and development, the ideological implication, the aesthe

4、tic intention and cultural connotation. Boudoir repining Ci lyrics in Song dynasty, on the one hand, based on the previous works, still concentrate upon sadness and repining; on the other hand, keeping pace with the time

5、s, extend their topics to a wider social life, further analyzing sufferings in reality and tragedies in marriage. These works vividly display the daily lives of women in the Song Dynasty, reflecting both the superficial

6、mood of sadness, happiness and depression, and the deeper psychology of self-pity, infatuation, chastity and obedience. Meanwhile, in order to achieve the artistic effect and create the atmosphere, these works employ a v

7、ariety of typical imageries and four kinds of lyric modes, including ‘time brings nothing change but you’, ‘recalling good old days when feeling sad’, ‘expressing love in dreams’ and ‘straightforwardness’. Among all thes

8、e Ci lyrics, those composed by female writers hold the ‘beauty of truth’ in emotion, which is absent in men’s works. Furthermore, in terms of art, women’s lyrics have formed some characteristics in line with traditional
