2、al Area Network (WLAN) is coming into the marketplace with products of various type and designs. This paper will explore the basic process of developing the architecture of one such WLAN system extension in 2.4
3、GHz band. Some main parts of this RF receiver have been designed in details to conform to the draft IEEE802.11 specification but not fixing on definite application so as to put the focus on RF circu
4、its designing. In the developing process, an example of a WLAN RF solution, which belongs to a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) system from Intersil Corporation, the PRISM® chip set has been analyzed
5、. As the main integrated chips of the RF receiver, low noise amplifier HFA3424, dual frequency synthesizer HFA3524 and up/down converter HFA3624 are adopted in the system. Furthermore, using advanced RF simul
6、ation tool ADS2002, some critical units such as SIR filters and Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO) has been developed. Designing with ADS2002, the developing circle and cost is greatly reduced and some experiment PCBs h
