5、herisaMgrdshammarB90conecrusherthathasbeenequippedwithcustommachinedlinersvariablespeeddriveaNationalInstrumentsdataacquisitionsystem.Theresultsprovidenovelinsightregardingthestochasticflowbehaviourofparticleswhenexitedb
6、ythemantleathighfrequency.TheestimatedproductsizedistributionmatchestheexperimentalresultsrelativelywellwhenevaluatingthecrespondingcoarseregionthatisfeasibletocalculatefromtheDEMproductdisgedata.1.IntroductionTheconecru

8、ushingpotentialefftstooptimizetheperfmanceoperationhavefollowed.Thisinterestdirectsfocusonmodellingsimulationcapabilitiesindertoprovideaccuraterobustpredictions.Modelscommonlyrangefromrelativelysimpleempiricalanalyticalm
9、odelstomechanisticanalyticalmodelsnumericalmodelswhichfinstanceutilizethediscreteelementmethod(DEM).Therequiredqualityapplicabilityofthedifferentmodellingapproachesdependsonwhyitisapplied.Ifthemodelisusedinafastsimpleste
10、adystatesimulationafittedempiricalsizereductionmodelmaybeenoughatleastifthepredictioncapabilitylimitationsarewellunderstoodconsidered.IncaseswherefinstancetheinfluenceoncircuitperfmancedueEvertsson20162010Quistetal.2011)
11、.TheBPMmodelisimplementedonclustersofsubparticlesassembledwiththeshapefrom3Dscannedrockparticles.ThemicropropertiesoftheBPMmodelwerecalibratedagainstsingleparticlebreakageexperimentstheresultshavebeencomparedtoindustrial
12、scaleexperiments.TheexperimentswereconductedonaSvedalaH6000conecrusherthepowerdrawpressuresignalsweremeasuredusingacustomdataacquisitionsystemwithasamplingrateof500Hz.TheseattemptstodevelopavalidatedDEMmodelstructurefcom
13、pressivebreakageinconecrushershavebeencontinuedinlabatyscaleexperimentsusingaB90MgrdshammarconecrusherbyJohanssonQuist(Johanssonetal.2015).Inthementionedwktheeccentricspeedofthemantlewasinvestigatedatlevelssignificantlyh
14、igherthannmalfconecrushers.ItwasfoundthattheiginallinerdesignwithadistinctshtparallelzoneintheCSSregionwaspossiblysuitableflabatysamplesizereductionpurposeshoweverlesssuitableftheinvestigationofhighspeedcrushing.Anewline
15、rdesignCADmodelwasdevelopedwithcontinuouslinersurfacesthisdesignwasevaluatedusingDEM.Inthiswknewlinercomponentshavebeenmachinedtwolabatyexperimentshavebeenconductedateccentricspeeds10Hz20Hzwithaclosesidesettingof2.2mm.Th
16、eeccentricthrowofthecrusherisfixedat4.3mm.ThecrespondingcasehasbeenmodelledinDEMthemainscopeofthispaperistocomparethelabatyresultwiththeDEMsimulationresults.ThiscomparisonisbothofscientificvalueintermsofDEMvalidationbuta
17、lsointermsofunderstingthemechanicsphenomenaofhighspeedconecrushing.Themotivationfexplingconecrushingathigherspeedsistoinvestigateifitispossibletocapitalizeontheincreasednumberofsingleparticlebreakagecompressionevents.Ith
18、aspreviouslybeenshownthatsingleparticlebreakageissuperiintermsofenergyutilizationwhencomparedtofinstancesingleparticleimpactbreakageinterparticlebedbreakage(Schnert1972).ThelayoutconfigurationofthispaperfollowstheIMRDCst
19、ructurewherethemethodologyoftheexperimentsDEMmodellingisfirstpresented.InthesubsequentsectiontheexperimentalresultsareshownfollowedbytheDEMsimulationresults.Finallytheexperimentalsimulationfindingsarediscussedconclusions
