6、 “Imagination is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited. Knowledge contains everything in the world and drives the progress; it is the source of knowledge advance. Speaking seriously, imagination is
7、 the basic factor in science study. ”In the teaching of primary school English, one of the most important tasks is cultivating and developing the thinking ability of pupils. The fact had turned out that cultivating the

10、r imagination tightly. In some way, no imagination, no creativity. In the sense of psychology, imagination is a certain new figure in one’s mind or people produce relevant figure in their minds according to oral or writt
11、en description. It’s a special thinking way and it shows human’s creation. As we all know, creativity wil</p><p> ?、? Situation in developing pupils’ imagination in primary English teaching. </p>
12、<p> We should develop pupil’s imagination in our primary English teaching and primary school English teaching is very suitable to develop pupil’s imagination, too. There are several reasons: Firstly, according
13、to psychology, children have rich imagination and they have more capacity of imagination to develop. And their thinking in image is dominative in their thinking forms. Psychology shows that childhood is the most importan
14、t period for us to develop human’s imagination. Above all, in English t</p><p> ?、? Advantages of imagination in primary school English teaching.</p><p> These are some reasons:</p><
15、p> 3.1. Advantage in English vocabulary teaching. </p><p> When we teach children words, children often imagine the meaning of the words and the things that the words stand for. This greatly helps them
16、understand, memorize and use the words. Imagination also can help children to console the vocabulary they have learnt. Such as, when we say the information about animals that they have learnt, they will think about the s
17、hapes of animals then say them out or write down the words. In the same way, pupils can combine the words with colors, size, age; purpose</p><p> When they listen to tapes or teachers in English, sing in En
18、glish, talk in English, act or play games in English, imagination is always with them. It helps children think of all kinds of feelings, things and situations. All of them help children understand English and then know h
19、ow to use English wisely. If pupils can’t depend on imagination, how can they learn to use English in a country that few people speak English in daily life like China? In primary school English teaching, imagination

21、hengtao said:”Picture is not only the explanation of the words, and it can expand the children’s imagination.” In general, the text topic show the theme .The illustration provides a direct clue for the text contents. Acc
22、ording to this point, the teacher should take advantage of the illustration sufficiently and lead the children make sentences in wonderful words describe the situations or express their real feelings as if in a real situ
23、ation. The children d</p><p> When the children are pre-reading the text, the teacher can lead the pupils to use the text us illustration for inferring the text contents combined with the knowledge and lift

35、 activities should not be limited to the class. It can be extended to out classroom and in the life .This will extend the imagination further. In order to make the pupils be brave and creative and make the life out of cl
36、ass more wonderful, we should explore in various ways as a teacher. At first, the pupil can make up the English stories and play them by themselves.Secondly; we can also hold the English songs and speech competition. <
37、;/p><p> According to these, we have made the road for the pupils to develop the imagination. The pupils can have a free talk, talk about something about the pictures, learn the English songs, do English games
38、 and watch the English movies. They will show a great enthusiasm in all kinds of activities. They will think actively, compare with each other and practice with boldness. In the process of the activities, the imagination
