文檔簡(jiǎn)介

1、Introduction and Aims:It is evident that abnormalities of gallbladder motor functions have serious clinical implications. The main aim of this study was to determine the different parameters of gallbladder motor function

2、in the patients with gallstones and chronic acalculous cholecystitis and compare the results with those obtained from healthy control volunteers.
Methods:In this comparative study,we determined gallbladder volume an

3、d volume changes in response to a fatty meal in 15 each healthy asymptomatic adult volunteer, gallstone patients and patients with chronic acalculous cholecystitis (CAC) by using 3D-Ultrasonography.We obtained gallbladder

4、 volumes immediately before the subject ingested a fatty meal and at 5,15,30,45,and 60 minutes after the meal.Changes in gallbladder volume after the fatty meal were analyzed as changes in absolute volume and also as per

5、centage changes by using the pre-meal value as the index value.Gallbladder ejection fraction (GBEF) and ejection rate (GBER) were then calculated.
Results:The mean age of both the gallstone group (39.67±8.64 years)

6、and the CAC group (38.2±11.35 years) was higher than control group (30.2±8.82 years) with P-value of 0.011 and 0.029 respectively.None of the measured variables of gallbladder volume, ejection fraction or emptying rate s

7、howed any correlation with the age of the either control subjects or the patient groups.Body mass index (BMI) was positively correlated with fasting gallbladder volume (FGBV) of control subjects (r=0.726 and P=0.002) and

8、 CAC patients (r=0.649 and P=0.009) and postprandial residual gallbladder volume (PPRGBV) of control subjects (r=0.747 and P=0.001) and negatively correlated to gallbladder ejection rate of control subjects (r=-0.603 and

9、 P=0.017).The mean FGBV in both the gallstone (28.81 cc) and CAC (25.95 cc) group was higher than the control group (17.02 cc) with P=0.009 and 0.043 respectively. The mean PPRGBV in the gallstone group was higher than th

10、e control group (16.51vs.4.94 cc;P=0.006).There was a significant reduction of the mean GBEF value of the gallstone group (45.84%) in comparison to that of the control group (72.29%) with P=0.000.
  Conclusions:Our st

11、udy showed that, there is a significant increase in fasting gallbladder volume in both the gallstone and CAC patients compared to the healthy control subjects. There is a significant decrease in fractional ejection of gall

12、bladder in response to the fatty meals in patients with gallstone and increased postprandial residual volume in patients with a gallstone compared to the control subjects. The increased BMI is associated with significant
